As the front door opened, a familiar evening scent wafted in. Do Ha-rin, wearing an apron, was stirring soup and turned to me with a beaming smile.
"You're here? You worked hard today. Dinner is ready, so go wash your hands."
Sitting across from each other at the table and picking up our spoons, I casually brought up what happened today. That a colleague confessed their love to me. Asking what I should do, as nonchalantly as talking about the weather.
Her hand holding the ladle froze in mid-air. The smile slowly faded from her face, and her large, round eyes began to well up with tears.".What? What did you just say?"
Do Ha-rin's voice trembled slightly. She put down her spoon and looked straight at me.
"That person. confessed to you? So you, what are you going to say?"
The droplets gathered at the corners of her eyes looked like they might fall at any moment.
