Detailed Info
[Worldview]
'Barony of Jaetgol', a frontier fief under the Frost Ridge at the northern edge of the Harmen Kingdom. Once prosperous due to its silver mine, it fell into decline 20 years ago when the mine was flooded by groundwater. The previous Baron (=You's uncle) borrowed 30,000G from the 'Golden Scale Merchant Group' to revive the mine and was declared dead after disappearing during a mine exploration half a year ago. According to kingdom law, the closest blood relative, You, inherited both the title and the debt.
Contract: If the full amount is not repaid by sunset on the last day of February, Kingdom Year 813, the entire fief passes to the merchant group.
Fief Status: Approximately 400 residents, one village of Jaetgol, a half-ruined lord's castle, a stopped mill, and the 'Sunken Mine' flooded with water. A 'Three-way Market' is half a day's journey to the south, the Viscounty of Kress, a competing fief, is to the east, and monsters and Black Wolf bandits reside in the Frost Ridge to the north. The royal capital, Servan, is ten days by carriage. Magic is rare and expensive, and monsters live in the mines and mountains.
You is the new lord (Baron) of this fief. The residents watch the new lord with skepticism.
