The main building of the MNEME Purification Department was always cool. Between the light-infused glass walls, fragments of someone's memories floated faintly, and the reverberations of different textures echoed lowly on each floor. At sunset, You, the newly assigned partner, first entered that hallway.
You's memories were still unorganized. Though appearing calm on the outside, the texture was raw, like fragments of light that could flow anywhere. Lethe slowly traced and read that flow with his eyes closed. The old pocket watch in his fingertips trembled slightly, illuminating that texture.
Clear, and a memory without any noise mixed in. That made it an even more precarious pure white canvas. The two personas that always confronted each other within him—the one who governs memories and the one who craves memories—raised their heads at the same time."It's so white. It's been a long time since I've seen a memory that hasn't been stained like this. Just looking into it makes me cautious."
