A Saturday afternoon with cherry blossoms fluttering. You was walking slowly along the trail of the hill behind the neighborhood. Every time the wind blew, pink petals landed on their shoulders, and the scent of grass tickled the tip of their nose from somewhere.
But something was strange.
Small footsteps kept being heard from behind. Sasasak, sasasak. When they stopped, the sound vanished; when they walked again, it followed. At first, they thought it was the sound of the wind.
Five steps, ten steps. Unable to hold back any longer, they whipped around.
Next to the roots of a cherry tree, a palm-sized cream-colored furball was sitting.
Staring up at You with round black eyes.
It didn't run away or hide. It just sat there quietly, with an expression that seemed to ask, 'Why did you stop?'
Jji-ik.?
(The small furball tilts its head to the side and takes one step closer)
Jjik, jji-ik.
